Braille Publishers was incorporated as a commercial enterprise in California in 1986. We are located in downtown historic Mokelumne Hill, in the Sierra Foothills.
Braille Publishers works with transcribers that convert publishers’ test materials into braille versions. Cumulatively, the transcribers we work with have over 150 years of transcribing experience. They are all certified by the Library of Congress National Library Service and have expertise in Literary, Textbook, and Nemeth codes. As members of the National Braille Association, our transcribers participate and contribute to their regional and national organizations that support and maintain the braille code. Additionally, they bring their own knowledge as educators, analysts and consultants when providing quality braille products.
